A few words from our salon owner Grace reflecting on what has been 10 years of The Mixx!! Today 10 years ago I opened the doors to The Mixx for the very first time. Reflecting on the past 10 years of The Mixx has been quite a journey filled with challenges, growth, and rewarding moments. When I first started out, i was a 20 year old who was filled with excitement and ambition, eager to create a space where people could come to feel welcomed and could leave with a greater sense on confidence. One of the most rewarding aspects has been the relationships I’ve built along the way. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredibly talented stylists who have brought their creativity and passion to this salon. Together, we’ve created a team that feels more like a family, supporting and inspiring each other every step of the way. And of course, I can’t forget about our amazing clients. The relationships we’ve built with them over the years have been the heart and soul of this salon. Seeing their faces light up after their hair appointment is what motivates us to keep pushing forward and striving for excellence. As I look back on the past 10 years, I’m filled with gratitude for all the experiences, lessons, and memories that have shaped this salon into what it is today. I’m excited for the future, for the new challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, and for the chance to continue growing and evolving in this ever-changing industry. Lucky we've got the tips to keep your hair healthy and hydrated... ༄ Use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner, especially after you swim! ༄ Replace your tight ponytails and buns to loose braids or plaits to prevent breakage and protect the ends of your hair. ༄ Get on the leave in moisturiser! It's formulated to hydrate and protect your hair. Plus it's great for coating your hair with before a swim to create an extra barrier against chlorine and saltwater. Bonus points if you see us in salon for weekly moisturising treatments x

Our go-to tips for looking after your BLONDE ✨ ~ Blonde hair needs love ~ When you are blonde it is important to give your hair some extra love and TLC to prevent breakage and keep your hair looking and feeling as healthy as possible. If you are blowdrying, straightening or curling your hair, protecting your hair with a heat protectant is a must! We also recommend pairing a restorative leave in treatment like K18 with a leave in moisturiser to repair, nourish and keep your hair hydrated at all times. ~ Don't overdo the Blonde Shampoo ~ We may sound like a broken record but all the best hair really does start with the right shampoo and conditioner. While purple shampoo is great for removing brassy tones, we do not recommend replacing it with your regular everyday shampoo. It is important not to overdo it, as it can easily overtone your hair and leave it feeling dull, dry and even darker in colour. It is especially important to put this blonde shampoo away leading up to your hair appointment. ~ Choose the right Blonde for you ~ There are many different variations of blonde. We recommend doing your research and talking to your stylist, so we can achieve the perfect blonde for you. For example, if you can only visit your hairdresser 1-4 times per year, a more low maintenance, natural lived-in blonde might be the best option for you! Now go live your best life Barbie!! 💋
